- Install CloudPak4Data, Data Virtualization, Data Governance, and Data Catalog
- Integrate the platform to existing data sources (out of the box integration)
- Configure connections to various data sources
- Define and document a maximum of 5 data sources for virtualized tables
- Perform profiling and assessment of data structure in each source
- Create ETL Jobs for data cleansing with data modeling and data mapping
- Ensure ETL Jobs are ready from users with a maximum of 5 jobs
- Create and manage a minimum of 5 data catalogs with governance categories and business terms
- Define metadata standards and taxonomy
- Implement data classification and tagging strategy
- Create and maintain ETL Job Lineage Import
- Perform mapping and tracking of data transformations
- Visualize data lineage for audit and compliance purposes
🧠 Responsibilities
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required.
- Specific experience with IBM DataStage is often required, ranging from 2+ years for developer roles to 3+ years for administrator roles.
- Experience with other ETL tools like Informatica, Ab Initio, or Oracle ETL can also be beneficial.
- Experience in data integration and data warehousing is also highly valued.
- Strong SQL skills are essential for querying and manipulating data within DataStage.
- Familiarity with DataStage components, Designer, Director, and other relevant tools is necessary.
- Understanding of ETL processes, data transformation techniques, and data warehousing principles is crucial.
- Knowledge of database management and related concepts is beneficial.
- Experience with languages like Python or Java can be a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Defines and establishes the company’s data governance framework and performance metrics to ensure proper management of all critical data elements
- Defines the roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensures accountability for the stewardship of critical data elements
- Develops and maintains key artefacts (e.g. business glossary, data catalogue) and documentation (e.g. policies, standards, SoPs)
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and methodologies is valued.
