- Define implementation strategy for OpenShift cluster and CP4D platform
- Install and configure OpenShift cluster infrastructureConfigure connections to various data sources
- Deploy CloudPak4Data platform on OpenShift environment
- Install Data Virtualization, Data Governance, and Data Catalog modules
- Configure high availability and disaster recovery settings
- Set up networking, storage, and security configurations
- Integrate CP4D platform to existing data sources (out of the box integration)
- Configure connections to various data sources and systems
- Establish secure communication channels between CP4D and external systems
- Set up user authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Allocate and manage compute, memory, and storage resources
- Configure resource quotas and limits for different projects/namespaces
- Optimize cluster performance and resource utilization
- Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions
🧠 Responsibilities
- Linux Administration: Deep experience in Linux system administration, as OpenShift is built on top of Linux distributions. Proficiency in RHEL/CentOS is highly preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes
- Container Orchestration: Strong expertise in designing, deploying, and managing OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, including knowledge of cluster architecture, networking, storage, and security configurations.
- Automation & Scripting: Ability to develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or tools such as Ansible for cluster provisioning, maintenance, and operational tasks.
- CI/CD: Experience implementing and managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using related tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Tekton.
- Networking & Security: Knowledge of container networking (SDN, CNI), service mesh concepts, and OpenShift security best practices including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
- On-Premise/Cloud Experience: Ability to work with OpenShift clusters in both on-premise environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Database Knowledge: Understanding of database deployments in containerized environments, including StatefulSets and persistent storage management.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Knowledge of implementing HA configurations, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures for OpenShift clusters.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and container security scanning tools
