- Install, configure, and manage IBM Guardium Data Protection (GDP) and Guardium Data Encryption (GDE) in enterprise environments to protect sensitive data from internal and external threats.
- Perform real-time monitoring of database and data warehouse activities to detect anomalies, unauthorized access, and potential data security breaches.
- Configure and manage S-TAP (Software Tap) and STAP agents across various database platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Create and maintain security policies, audit policies, and compliance workflows in accordance with regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and local regulations.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on databases to identify security gaps and provide remediation recommendations.
- Implement data masking, encryption, and tokenization using Guardium Data Encryption to protect data at-rest and data in-transit.
- Create custom reports, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms to meet compliance audit requirements and business stakeholder needs.
- Perform log analysis and forensic investigations when security incidents or data breaches occur to identify root causes and impact assessment.
- Integrate Guardium with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight), ticketing systems, and security orchestration platforms for automated incident response.
- Fine-tune inspection engines, query parsers, and classification rules to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
- Manage user access management, role-based access control (RBAC), and segregation of duties within the Guardium platform following least privilege principles.
- Perform regular health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Guardium infrastructure including collectors, aggregators, and central managers.
🧠 Responsibilities
- Experience with administration of IBM Guardium Database Activity Monitoring in medium/large enterprises including;
- Translate application security requirements into Guardium policies and rules
- Experience with application of filters for trusted connections
- Ability to develop and maintain activity monitoring reports.
- Experience T-SQL, SQL Server administration and performance optimization,
- Knowledge of Guardium GIM and sTAP agents, how to install and configure.
- Experience with the installation and configuration of sTAP in the following;
a. DB: Mainframe DB2 on z/OS, IMS
b. DB: UDB DB2/Oracle/Sybase on AIX or SOLARIS or LINUX
c. DB: SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012 R2
- Experience developing and performing Guardium log queries including basic troubleshooting and work within Client's change management/ticketing process.
- Ability to Engage IBM Guardium support (open PMR's) to identify and resolve
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least five years of diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
